Why students choose Presidency
Presidency University was established in 2015 under the Presidency Group of Institutions, on a 67-acre campus near Itgalpura, Rajanakunte, off Yelahanka in north Bengaluru. As a private university, Presidency sets its own syllabus and awards its own degrees rather than being affiliated to VTU.
Presidency is recognised by the UGC, approved by AICTE, and accredited by NAAC with an A grade (some reports cite A+). It offers 97 programmes across its Schools of Engineering, Computer Science, Management, Law, Design, Commerce, Liberal Arts and Sciences. NIRF 2025 places its Engineering programme in the 201-300 band and its Management programme in the 101-125 band.
Courses and branches
Presidency offers a four-year B.Tech across several specialisations, along with M.Tech, MBA, BCA, BBA and other programmes. B.Tech branches include:
- Computer Science and Engineering, and CSE (Data Science / Big Data)
- Electronics and Communication, and Electrical and Electronics
Eligibility
For B.Tech, candidates need a pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with at least 45% aggregate (60% for some programmes, check the current prospectus). Presidency accepts JEE Main, KCET, COMEDK UGET and its own PUEET score.
