About CMR Institute of Technology

CMR Institute of Technology (CMRIT) was set up in 2000 and is run by the CMR Jnanadhara Trust as part of the CMR Group of Institutions. The campus is on ITPL Main Road in Kundalahalli, east Bengaluru, in the technology corridor that runs from Marathahalli through Brookefield to Whitefield.

CMRIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and approved by AICTE. It is accredited by NAAC with an A++ grade, and several of its departments hold NBA accreditation. NIRF 2025 placed it in the 151–200 band for engineering. CMRIT is a separate institution from CMR University.

Courses and branches

CMRIT offers B.E., M.Tech, MBA, MCA and Ph.D. programmes. B.E. branches include:

Eligibility

For B.E., candidates need a pass in Class 12 with English as one of the languages. They also need at least 45% aggregate in Physics and Mathematics with one of Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Electronics or Computer Science, or 40% for Karnataka reserved-category candidates. A KCET, COMEDK UGET or JEE Main score is required.

1. KCET (government quota)

Karnataka candidates receive seats through KEA counselling based on their KCET rank.

2. COMEDK UGET and JEE Main

Students from any state can apply through COMEDK counselling, and JEE Main scores are also accepted.

3. Management quota
