About Acharya Institute of Technology
Acharya Institute of Technology (AIT) was set up in 2000 as part of the Acharya group of institutions. It is on Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Road in Soladevanahalli, off Hesaraghatta Main Road in north-west Bengaluru. The campus is reported to cover about 120 acres, one of the largest in the city, and is shared with the group’s architecture, management, science and other colleges.
AIT is affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), approved by AICTE, and NAAC accredited, with NBA accreditation for major departments. It was placed in the NIRF 151–200 band for engineering in 2023. It should not be confused with the Army Institute of Technology in Pune, which shares the AIT abbreviation.
Courses and branches
AIT offers B.E. in about seven branches, including Computer Science and Engineering, AI and Machine Learning, Information Science, Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical and Civil. It also offers M.Tech, MBA and MCA.
