Why students choose Christ Kengeri
Christ (Deemed to be University) traces back to Christ College, founded in 1969, and was granted deemed-university status by the UGC in 2008. Its School of Engineering and Technology operates from the Kengeri Campus, a 78.5-acre site on Mysore Road at Kanmanike, Kumbalgodu, about 25 km from the university’s Central Campus on Hosur Road. The Kengeri Campus was started in September 2009 and also houses the School of Architecture and School of Business and Management.
As a deemed-to-be university, Christ sets its own syllabus and conducts its own admission process rather than following VTU. It is approved by AICTE, has NBA-accredited programmes, and is accredited by NAAC with an A+ grade (university-wide). Reported NIRF 2025 rankings for Christ’s engineering programme range from about 60 to 76 depending on the source; check the latest NIRF disclosure for the confirmed figure.
Courses and branches
Christ Kengeri offers a four-year B.Tech across 13 specialisations, along with M.Tech and B.Arch through the same campus. B.Tech branches include:
- Computer Science and Engineering, and CSE (AI & Machine Learning)
- Information Technology
- Electronics and Communication Engineering
- Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
Eligibility
For B.Tech, candidates need a pass in 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, with at least 50% aggregate in PCM. Admission is based on the Christ University Entrance Test (CUET, the university’s own test) or an accepted score from KCET, COMEDK UGET or JEE Main.
Admission routes at Christ Kengeri
1. Christ University Entrance Test (CUET)
Christ conducts its own entrance test for B.Tech, run in phases, followed by counselling. This is the primary admission route.
2. KCET, COMEDK UGET and JEE Main
Christ also accepts KCET, COMEDK and JEE Main scores as an alternative to sitting its own entrance test.
3. Management quota
A share of seats is available through management quota for students who fall short of the merit routes. Call +91 76760 80008 for updated fee and seat details.
Christ Kengeri fee structure
Christ’s B.Tech fees are among the higher private fees in Bangalore for a deemed university.
| Branch | Total course fee (indicative) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Computer Science and Engineering | About ₹10.2 lakh (2025-26) | 4-year total, tuition |
| CSE (AI & Machine Learning) | About ₹13.2 lakh | Highest among B.Tech branches |
| Other branches | ₹6.6 lakh to ₹9.84 lakh | 4-year total, varies by branch |
An application fee of ₹1,800 and a separate non-refundable registration fee of ₹8,000 apply after selection. Confirm the current fee structure with the college before paying.
Christ Kengeri admission and cutoffs
Christ does not publicly disclose branch-wise KCET or COMEDK closing ranks the way VTU colleges do, since most B.Tech seats are filled through its own CUET-based counselling. Students with a KCET, COMEDK or JEE Main score can still apply and be considered outside the CUET process.
