Why students choose DSCE
About Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) was set up in 1979 under the Mahatma Gandhi Vidya Peetha Trust. It is the flagship engineering college of the Dayananda Sagar Institutions group. The campus is on Shavige Malleshwara Hills in Kumaraswamy Layout, south Bengaluru, next to the group’s other colleges.
DSCE is an autonomous college affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). It is approved by AICTE and accredited by NAAC with an A grade, and was placed in the 201–300 band for engineering in NIRF 2025.
Not to be confused with: Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) and Dayananda Sagar Academy of Technology and Management (DSATM) are separate institutions in the same group, with different admission processes and fees.
Courses and branches
DSCE offers about 15 undergraduate and 13 postgraduate programmes, including M.Tech, MBA, MCA and Ph.D. B.E. branches include:
- Computer Science and Engineering, AI and Machine Learning, CSE (Data Science), CSE (Cyber Security), and Information Science
- Electronics and Communication, Electrical and Electronics, Electronics and Instrumentation, and Telecommunication
- Mechanical, Civil, Aeronautical, Automobile, Chemical, and Biotechnology
Eligibility
For B.E., candidates need a pass in 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics, plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Computer Science or Electronics. The minimum is 45% aggregate in these subjects, or 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates of Karnataka. A valid KCET or COMEDK UGET rank is needed for counselling seats.
Admission routes at DSCE
1. KCET (government quota)
Karnataka candidates receive seats through KEA counselling based on their KCET rank, at the lowest fee.
2. COMEDK UGET
Students from any state can apply through COMEDK counselling, at a higher fee than KCET seats.
3. Management quota
DSCE takes management quota applications through the admission enquiry section of its official website. You create an account, fill in the form, upload documents and pay a non-refundable application fee. Fees vary by branch, and seat allotment depends on availability and college policy. Separate hostels for boys and girls are available, and hostel and mess charges are extra.
DSCE cutoff
| Exam and round | Reported General category range | Most / least competitive |
|---|---|---|
| KCET 2026, Round 1 | 4,242 to 54,889 | CSE / Civil |
| COMEDK 2025 | 3,609 to 68,618 | CSE branches / core branches |
KCET 2026 figures are as reported by Shiksha and COMEDK 2025 by Collegedunia. A KCET rank in the tens of thousands can still lead to a seat in core branches such as Civil or Mechanical, while CSE and AI branches need much stronger ranks.
DSCE placements
DSCE’s 2025 placement report puts the highest package at ₹56 LPA, as reported by Collegedunia. Computer science branches record the strongest outcomes, and core branches generally see lower averages. The official 2026 report had not been released at the time of checking.
Campus and location
The campus is on Shavige Malleshwara Hills in Kumaraswamy Layout, close to Banashankari and JP Nagar in south Bengaluru. It is part of the larger Dayananda Sagar Institutions campus, with hostels, sports grounds, an auditorium, a central library and college buses.
